Congratulations to Nat Ford, CEO, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, for his appointment to serve as Chair of the Transportation Research Board’s Executive Committee. As Chair, Nat will lead the Executive Committee, which oversees all TRB activities and ensures they are constructive to the nation’s transportation system.
Marsha Nelson to Lead Colorado Department of Transportation’s Newly-Created Environmental Justice and Equity Branch
COMTO Colorado President Marsha Nelson was selected to lead the Colorado Department of Transportation’s newly-created Environmental Justice and Equity Branch. The branch was established as part of SB21-260, the comprehensive transportation funding and modernization bill passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Jared Polis. The first tasks the branch will take on under Nelson’s leadership will be a public town hall on environmental justice issues and an equity framework for transportation.

First up is Qiana McKoy, Diversity Specialist, HNTB Corporation. Qiana shares her passion for transportation and how we can best serve rising leaders like herself. Amit Bose was appointed the 15th Administrator of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Mr. Bose makes history as the first person of South-Asian descent to lead the FRA. Last year COMTO hosted an exclusive hour-long briefing with Mr. Bose for COMTO leadership to learn firsthand the significance rail plays in the Administration’s national infrastructure plan. Associate, Membership & Chapter Services The Associate, Membership & Chapter Support oversees the full lifecycle of membership at COMTO including retention and recruiting. As the major touchpoint for membership, the Associate will provide support to 35 COMTO chapters across North America with outreach, tools, and best practices in membership programs. In coordination with external affairs, the Associate will ensure fulfillment of member benefits and develop strategic campaigns to highlight the benefits of membership to engage students, transportation professionals, DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE organizations
