Cipriana Eckford (RK&K), co-chair of the COMTO DC Chapter’s Diversity, Equity & Small Business Outreach Committee, and owner of Soulfully Speaking Photography, LLC, (SSP), has partnered with another local minority owned business, RX Catering DC (Cheron Burns, owner), to provide care to local healthcare workers.

So far, with SSP collecting more than $3750 in community donations, RX Catering has prepared and delivered over 200 individual catered lunches and dinners to healthcare workers at Washington Hospital Center, Children’s Hospital, Prince George’s Hospital Center, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center, Howard County General Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Mary’s Center.

Subsequently, RX Catering has received over $25,000 in direct donations in support of this effort – providing several thousand meals to healthcare workers across the DC Metropolitan area.  Additionally, Soulfully Speaking Photography and WOWD Center for Wellness, another local minority owned business (Dr. Alessandra Poroj, owner), will be providing “after the storm” care by offering the doctor/nurse/tech contact at each of the delivery locations a complimentary mini-portrait session for the healthcare worker (with their family) and a complimentary Thai foot massage. The three owners, graduates of Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Xavier University of LA, all firmly believe in FAMU’s motto – Excellence with Caring and are grateful to all of those who have donated to help care for those who care for us.
