Event description: Please join us to learn more about the HVAC revolution sparked by the pandemic, where design is now being optimized for indoor comfort, energy efficiency, and to reduce the risk of negative health outcomes with infectious diseases like COVID-19. Participants will learn why there is no “bolt-on silver bullet” for our clients’ HVAC systems during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how WSP is applying HVAC design concepts from the from the NIH Vaccine Research Laboratory to transportation vehicles and facilities to make them Future Ready.
About John A. Gasparine: John A. Gasparine is an Associate Vice President of WSP USA, Inc. and has over 19 years of multidisciplinary experience in the fields of public health and transit. John entered the workforce with a degree in biology, was a licensed Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) in the State of New Jersey, and worked for several years in the fields of public health and epidemiology. Ten years ago he entered the transit industry and has grown to lead transit policy, planning, operations, and program management initiatives across the country. He was the lead author for the APTA COVID-19 Guide, the New York MTA Global Practices Report, and is presently helping multiple transit agencies with various aspects of pandemic response and their reopening plans.
